Former” Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd admitted that the media has a lot of work to do in order to win back the audience’s trust after he abruptly left NBC News on Friday. Todd helped the corporate media industry render a great comeback by removing himself from the trust in a brilliant display of self-awareness and modesty.
Todd does take some time to concentrate on his podcast, like some has-beens who have come before him. The Chuck Toddcast, to his funds, does not use Jennifer Rubin and is not titled The Contrarian. Perhaps he’ll finally be able to fulfill his genuine calling of being a umpire. We sincerely hope that his future endeavors don’t include starting an odd crotch Instagram account or pursuing a seatbelt marketing career.
Sometimes he intends to indulge in his self-admitted routine of entering another people’s homes and moving their toilet paper “under” instead. Here are 11 more days ( aside from the crotch image event ) that could have served as a hint to retire early, whatever the future holds for Todd.
Fundamentalists believe that all right come from God.
Back in 2017 when Roy Moore was running for an Alabama Senate seats, the controversial member expressed a very unambiguous idea that” Our privileges don’t come from authorities,  , they , don’t come from the Bill of Rights, they come from Almighty God”.
Todd deemed such “fundamentalist opinions” to be a bridge too far for him, who decided Moore had certainly “believe in the Constitution as it is written” as it were.
Todd allegedly does not agree with the Declaration of Independence, or he might have forgotten that all people are “endowed by their Creator with certain rights right,” which” Governments are instituted among People” in order to safe.
‘ Do You Know]Boys and Women Are Unique ] As a Professor?’
Todd don’t support criticizing Ramaswamy’s advice that doctors shouldn’t cut up the body parts of children who exhibit gender dysphoria during an exam with Vivek Ramaswamy during the Democratic presidential primary in 2023.
” How do you know — are you certain that you are aware that gender is since binary as you’re describing it?” Are you convinced that it isn’t a variety”? Todd asked.
Undoubtedly, Todd is a member of D-list Broadway artist Ketanji Brown Jackson’s school of thought when it comes to science, because he pressed farther:” Do you know this as a professor”?
Naturally, it doesn’t take a scientist to realize that boys and girls are different. ( It also doesn’t take a scientist to understand how babies are created, though it does presumably take someone more intelligent than Todd’s fellow propagandist Philip Bump. ) Todd should be able to describe the animals and flies to him with more in-depth knowledge than Bump. Or he can see The Kindergarten Cop for free.
Lying and Deceptive Editing Against Bill Barr
Before Kamala Harris and “60 Minutes” made it cool, Chuck Todd and” Meet the Press” were splicing videos deceptively.
Former Attorney General Bill Barr was questioned by CBS in 2020 about how he believed the history books may interpret his decision to drop claims against Gen. Michael Flynn. Barr chuckled, stating that “history is written by the victors, but it mainly depends who is winning the history,” before remarking that” a good history would say that it was a great choice because it upheld the rule of law and undid what was an unfairness.”
Seemingly taking Barr’s words out of perspective, Todd showed just the first quarter — the witty opening that preceded Barr’s real response — to his viewers, asking Peggy Noonan if she was as” struck by the cynicism” of the answer as he was.
Todd continued,” He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law,” despite the fact that Barr argued precisely that in his subsequent sentence.
After being mocked for the deception, Todd claimed NBC “did not edit that out” but “include]d ] it because we only saw the shorter of two clips CBS did air”. His admission that NBC never considered checking the entire transcript or interview was hardly embarrassing.
Biden Corruption Is Not Worth Investigating Because It’s” Not a Crime to Make Money off of Your Last Name.”
Chuck Todd was arguing that an investigation into the corruption of the Biden family wasn’t really that important less than two years before Joe Biden granted his son a 10-year blanket pardon.
” Senator, do you have a crime that you think Hunter Biden committed”? he asked Sen. Ron Johnson. ” Because I’ve yet to see anybody explain. Making money off of your last name is not illegal.
That aged well!
Apologizing to a colleague for having to speak with a Republican
The backlash from McDaniel’s new colleagues was so hysterical that NBC dropped her in less than a week when Todd’s employer made the uncivil decision to hire a Republican contributor in the form of former RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
During that time, McDaniel sat for a 20-minute interview on” Meet the Press” with Kristen Welker. Afterward, Todd told Welker he thought “our bosses owe you an apology for putting you in this situation”.
Todd hasn’t made an apology to his viewers for making them watch NBC in the first place.
Have We Tried Fixing DOJ by Doing Less Oversight?
There have been numerous corruption issues at the Department of Justice, a fact Chuck Todd noticed not when the FBI helped to create the Trump-Russia collusion and spied on the Trump campaign using fabricated information, nor when the Biden DOJ attempted to imprison Trump. No, Todd expressed concern for the DOJ’s politicization when Barr’s department suggested Roger Stone’s sentence for lying to Congress be shorter than seven to nine years.
Are we at a point where a political appointee is unable to assume leadership in justice? Todd asked. Because it is obvious that the solution to a bloated bureaucracy with a history of using its police powers to intimidate political opponents is to make it impossible for Americans to elect those bureaucrats.
Americans Lose Trust in the media as a result of Fox News ‘” Checks Notes”
Chuck Todd recognized back in 2018 that trust in media was plummeting. Todd, however, decided it was all Fox News ‘ fault in an op-ed in The Atlantic, and said so in an op-ed in the Atlantic rather than taking responsibility for losing Americans ‘ trust by participating in hoaxes like Russiagate. The problem wasn’t with the left-wing media establishment he represented — it was that everyone, led by Fox News and Donald Trump, was meanly attacking journalists!
His solution, rather than engage in some serious industry-wide self-reflection, was for the media to double down and” start fighting back” against their critics. The press, Todd argued, needed to be “more aggressive”. I’m curious as to how he feels about how that turned out.
Russiagate Is Getting Closer to Being False After Steele Dossier Found to Be A Fake.
The media, who had been spreading the Russia collusion hoax for years, found it embarrassing when DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded in 2019 that the Steele dossier wasn’t trustworthy. It had been funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and shopped to the FBI to smear Trump. The majority of them fought to keep the Trump-Russia story alive by reaffirming that the Steele dossier’s foundational investigation was still entirely legitimate despite its falsity.
Todd did that as well, but he also hosted the co-founders of the opposition research firm that assisted the Clinton campaign in commissioning the dossier in order to support its author, Christopher Steele, on his show. They did so with such profound statements as “you can’t actually catch rabbits without going down some rabbit holes”, before expressing “full confidence” in Steele’s ability to, apparently, go down rabbit holes really well.
It was a strange choice, though perhaps not as strange as Todd’s choice to write a piece titled” No hoax: Why the Russia investigation continues to be one of Trump’s biggest scandals” six months later.
Refusal to Air Trump’s Allegations Against Hunter Biden Because It Wouldn’t Be Nice
Chuck Todd was testing the approach a full year before the Big Tech-corporate media industrial complex set up a blackout on the Hunter Biden laptop story in the lead-up to the 2020 election. Despite having a direct connection to the senior Biden campaign, Todd refused to air Trump’s comments about the Biden family business.
” We are going further than we’ve ever gone before to say, we aren’t going to play the sound. We aren’t going to repeat the president’s vicious attacks on Hunter Biden. The president of the United States stood in front of a crowd of supporters and character-assassinated” the Biden son, Todd claimed. ” We can’t in good conscience amplify those attacks”.
Funny how it didn’t stir up the good people on NBC to spread untrue accusations like the one that Trump used to urinate on a bed in Moscow?
Fake Impeachment News
Todd was in the awkward position of having to pretend any House Republican had voted in favor of an impeachment inquiry into Trump while hosting” Meet the Press” in 2019 in the midst of Democrats ‘ campaign to overthrow him.
In a graphic purporting to show how many members of Trump’s party supported his impeachment, compared to how many Democrats supported President Bill Clinton’s impeachment, Todd’s” Meet the Press” team aired this graphic on television:
The asterisk is there because the” Republican” was actually a former Republican who had left the party months before NBC aired the offensive graphic.
Todd even admitted during the broadcast,” I have one with an asterisk here. I don’t know what you do with Justin Amash. It’s not a zero. At the same time, he’s not a Republican anymore”.
Nothing Wrong With Being’ Overly Alarmist ‘ About Covid-19
In April of 2020, while politicians around the country were shutting down schools, churches, businesses, and dinner parties under the iron fist of Anthony Fauci, Todd suggested it was the better choice to destroy communities in the name of” caution” because “if you’re wrong and you’ve, and you’ve been overly alarmist, well, nobody’s, nobody extra has died”.
Of course, that wasn’t true — a lot of extra people died, from overdoses and suicides driven by isolation and unemployment, and from cancer and heart attacks because they weren’t able to get check-ups and screenings. According to some research, Covid lockdowns resulted in more of these “excess deaths” than the lives saved from Covid.
