Despite his efforts to stifle variety, equity, and inclusion efforts from the federal government, President Donald Trump will mark a statement on Saturday recognizing February as Black History Month.
At her first media briefing on Tuesday and then again at Friday’s lecture, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was questioned about Trump’s programs for Black History Month.
FULL LIST OF Professional Directions, ACTIONS, AND PROCLAMATIONS TRUMP HAS MADE AS PRESIDENT
The leader anticipates signing a declaration honoring Black History Month. I actually spoke with our wonderful workers secretary”, Leavitt told reporters. ” It’s in the functions of being approved, and it’s going to be prepared for the government’s name to signify the beginning of that tomorrow”.
Also, the media minister did not say if governmental department heads, many of whom have sought to coincide with Trump’s focus on rooting out DEI, may alter those policies based on Trump’s Saturday proclamation.
” The leader is leading here at the White House”, Leavitt responded. He’ll mark the proclamation very soon, I promise.
The Pentagon announced in a note on Wednesday that its intelligence agency may pause all traditions of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Pride Month, Holocaust Time of Memory, Black History Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, and six different day- or month-long social activities.
” We are receiving questions across the workforce on the way forward”, the memo reads. Effective immediately and until further notice,” DIA will pause all activities and events related to Agency Special Emphasis Programs.”
