As Elon Musk attempted to take control of the US Agency for International Development ( USAID), the organization on Monday closed its headquarters to the public. Detractors have called the behavior illegal.
After the company’s web went offline over the weekend, employees were instructed to avoid the Washington office. Marco Rubio, the secretary of state of the US, announced on Monday that USAID would now be under his command.
Rubio claimed that the organization had “long departed from its unique mission of properly advancing American interests internationally” and that he was reviewing its operations in advance of a potential restructuring.

Around 600 people may not get their computer networks, according to ABC News. At the company’s office, police prevented Liberals from entering the public entrance. They joined about 50 protesters outside, holding flags that read,” Save USAID, save life”.
Trump, allegedly gave power of legislation to Musk, who has not gone through a background check or confirmation hearing and is a big government company, according to reviewers.
Congressman Jim McGovern called it” a blatant attempt by a businessman who no one voted for to fraudulently and unconstitutionally steal from citizens so he can get a tax break.”
Congressman Gerry Connolly claimed that Musk lacked the constitutional power to dissolve an organization that had been established by Congress. ” It is a subject of legislation. Not an unaccountable billionaire billionaire named Elon Musk, he said, but a problem that Congress should address. ” And Elon, if you want to work USAID, get nominated by Trump and go to the Senate. Good luck in getting confirmed”.
USAID runs heath and emergency applications in about 120 countries. It plays a role in US foreign policy and international control, including contest with China, where Musk has business interests.
Musk referred to USAID as” a spider’s nest of radical-left socialists who hate America” and said he had discussed the shift with Trump.
Trump told reporters that Musk” doesn’t do and didn’t do anything without our acceptance” but even suggested that he agreed with Musk’s activities.
When asked whether only Congress could locked down USAID, Trump replied,” I don’t think therefore– not when it comes to scams. These people are loons”.
Trump has accused USAID of scams twice in the past two days, but he has not provided any specifics.
Senator Chris Van Hollen called Musk’s program a” crooked abuse of power” and a “gift to our opponents” that is “plain illegal”.
Elon Musk may try to play tyrant of Tesla and may try to do so in Washington DC, but he won’t be able to sabotage the Agency for International Development, according to Van Hollen.
Musk claims that his Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) has control over how money is spent despite the fact that Congress has control over the US budget.
