Donald Trump made a signal on Monday that the US support for Ukraine’s war efforts might depend on securing access to the nation’s rare earth elements.
Trump expressed disappointment in the Oval Office, expressing his frustration over what he perceived as an imbalance in US and European support, saying,” We’re looking to do a deal with Ukraine where they’re going to safe what we’re giving them with their unique universe and other things.”
Trump argued that Russian government officials were interested in such a deal, citing the crucial role of rare earth materials in the high-tech sector.
” I want to have surveillance of unusual earth”, he said. ” We’re putting in hundreds of billions of dollars. They have excellent unusual world. And I want safety of the unique world, and they’re prepared to do it”.
Trump has recently stated that he could end the war right away, but he claimed that negotiations are ongoing. ” We made a lot of development on Russia, Ukraine. We’ll see what happens. That crazy conflict will be over now.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, nevertheless, pushed up on any conversations that exclude Kyiv.
” They may have their own relationships, but talking about Ukraine without us—it is unsafe for everyone”, he told the Associated Press.
He acknowledged speaking with the Trump administration, but he claimed in-depth debate are still pending. ” We need to function more on this”.
