Following Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s news that Mexico had send 10,000 men to the southern border to stop fentanyl and illegal immigrants from entering the United States, President Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that the United States “agreed instantly to delay the expected taxes” against Mexico.
In a Monday declaration on Truth Social, Trump said,” I just spoke with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico. She agreed to immediately provide 10,000 Hispanic men on the border that separates Mexico from the United States during a very pleasant chat.
Trump stated in his Truth Social post that Hispanic men would be stationed along the southern boundary to” stop the flow of morphine, and improper immigrants” into the country.
The 47th leader wrote,” We further agreed to quickly pause the planned taxes for a one month time during which we will include discussions headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and high-level Mexican members.” ” I look forward to participating in those discussions, with President Sheinbaum, as we attempt to achieve a’ bargain’ between our two Countries”.

Sheinbaum announced that she had a” great conversation with President Trump with great admiration for our marriage and independence” on Monday before Trump’s statement on Truth Social.
Sheinbaum said in a translated speech on X, previously Online, that Mexico will quickly strengthen the northern border with 10,000 members of the National Guard to stop drug smuggling from Mexico to the United States, especially fentanyl.
Sheinbaum continued,” The United States is committed to working with Mexico to stop the smuggling of high-powered weaponry.” ” Our groups will begin working immediately on two fronts: security and trade. They will suspend taxes for a fortnight.
Trump threatened to impose tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China until the nations agreed to halt the flow of illegal medicines and refugees into the United States on Saturday.
