In response to President Donald Trump’s extensive tariffs against Canada, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, the head of the most popular province in Canada, announced that American-owned companies would be prohibited from entering provincial deals with the territory.
Ford added that in response to this, he is ending a state deal between the state and Elon Musk‘s Starlink internet service.
” Starting now and until U. S. taxes are removed, Ontario is banning American firms from provincial agreements”, Ford posted. Organizations with U.S. bases will then lose out on tens of billions of dollars in new income. They are merely to blame President Trump.
” We’re going one step further. We’ll get ripping up the state’s deal with Starlink. Ontario won’t do business with people intent on destroying our economy”, Ford continued, adding that” Canada didn’t began this battle with the U. S., but you better think we’re ready to get it”.

Ontario entered into a contract worthwhile$ 100-million American,$ 68 million USD, with Starlink in November to provide high-speed internet to distant people in rural and northwestern Ontario.
In response to Trump’s taxes, Canada has proposed its own punitive taxes. So far, they have ordered 25 % tariffs on U. S. imports starting Tuesday, which will include beverages, cosmetics, and paper products worth 30 billion Canadian dollars or$ 20 billion USD, according to the Associated Press.
” I wish we weren’t around. I wish Ontario and Canada were working together with our British friends and allies to render our two places the richest, most effective, safest, most secure on the planet”, Ford posted over the weekend. Trump has rather chosen to pursue tariffs that will only harm the country and lead to poorer people. Canada now has no option but to “reverse” and “reverse it” as tough as they can.
