According to the news agency Associated Press, two senior security officials at the US Agency for International Development ( USAID ) were given administrative leave after denying Elon Musk‘s Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) access to secret documents.

Despite their concerns, DOGE people finally gained admittance to restricted intelligence information on Saturday, as per AP.
The Trump administration’s attempts to impose control over national companies through DOGE, a work force established to reduce spending and reform government operations, have reached an even higher level. In recent months, the presidency has fired or placed dozens of officers on left, targeting different departments.
Following the droplets, USAID chief of staff Matt Hopson, a Trump presidency appointment, resigned from his position, according to the New York Times.
The Trump administration has suspended about 60 top officials and fired hundreds of companies as a result of a wider assault on USAID. As per The New York Times, conversations are afoot to drastically reduce the company’s part, perhaps by merging it into the State Department.
US President Trump defended the reshuffle, telling reporters on Sunday,” It’s been run by a bunch of radical maniacs. And we’re getting them out”.
Musk, reacting to reports of the officers ‘ suspension, attacked USAID on his platform X, creating,” USAID is a legal business. Time for it to die”. He later expanded his criticism of the organization with numerous messages.
However, Democratic politicians have condemned the event. Senate Democrats expressed concerns about DOGE’s access to classified sections and the numerous USAID punishments in a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Senator Elizabeth Warren claimed that Trump had allowed Musk to stifle state functions, saying,” We must do everything in our power to push back and protect people from harm.”
USAID, which administers billion in foreign aid across more than 100 nations, has faced increasing investigation under the Trump administration. The company’s website suddenly vanished on Saturday, raising more concerns about its future.
With a necessary team meeting set for Tuesday, USAID people expect more labor cuts. As per The New York Times, the presidency is actively discussing cuts to the company’s$ 38.1 billion funds, which resources global health, disaster relief, and anti-poverty plans.
