Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed a peace with Hamas with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday night. Trump suggested moving Palestinians from Gaza to different nations.
” It would be my hope that we could do anything really good, really good, where they wouldn’t want to profit”, Trump said. ” Why would they want to gain? The area has been hell”.
Trump previously said Palestinians do “love” a plan to move them to Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt and Jordan. He was expected to question Netanyahu to proceed with the next step of the peace and take breaks for securing the Israel-Hamas truce.
Netanyahu, when asked about the possibility of advancement, said,” We’re going to consider. That’s one of the stuff we’re going to speak about. When Israel and the United States work up, and President Trump and I work together, the odds go up a lot”.
Egypt, Jordan reject Plan
Egypt and Jordan rejected Trump’s idea of relocating Palestinians.
Also, Trump, with Netanyahu by his part, said he believes Egypt and Jordan—as well as other places which he did not name—will eventually agree to take in Palestinians.
” You look over the years, it’s all dying in Gaza”, Trump said. This has been occurring for decades. It’s all suicide. If there is a wonderful area where people can entirely relocate to enjoy life without being shot, killed, or otherwise killed, as is happening in Gaza, then what is possible?
Trump said Palestinians should find a “fresh, stunning piece of land” in another country. ” I think they’d like to leave Gaza if they had an option”, he said before his conference with Netanyahu.
Israel announced that it would be sending a group to Qatar to talk about the second phase of the peace agreement. Hamas confirmed that discussions had begun, with director Abdel Latif al-Qanou saying the target was on” house, pleasure and rebuilding”.
The second phase of the peace, lasting six days, involves the transfer of captives held in Gaza for captives in Israeli prison.
Hamas took 251 victims in its October 7, 2023, attack on Israel. Israel says 76 victims remain in Gaza, including 34 who are deceased. Jewish hostage families are urging the deal to continue to allow their launch.
Trump added that he would work to restart work to restart negotiations for a standardization agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel, which were stopped following the Gaza battle.
Conversations with Netanyahu also included Iran, which supports Hamas and Hezbollah. Before the conference, Trump signed an order reinstating “maximum force” on Iran over claims of nuclear weapons development.
Israel has been conducting operations against insurgents in the occupied West Bank since the stalemate ended on January 19. The UN issued a warning that the circumstances were worsening in the Jenin refugee camp.
The Israeli government reported on Tuesday that a gunman shot two soldiers before killing them near Jenin.
Under the peace, 18 victims have been freed, and around 600 Arab captives have been released. More assistance, including food, gas, and medication, has entered Gaza. Some displaced persons have retreated to the northwest.
Hamas’s October 7 strike killed 1, 210 people in Israel, generally residents, according to established Jewish images. Israel’s reaction has killed at least 47, 518 citizens in Gaza, generally residents, according to the Hamas-run health department. The UN considers these figures credible.
