However, two Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority ( MWAA ) employees have been detained for their actions in connection with the crash in a surprising new development.  ,
Mohamed Lamine Mbengue, 21, of Rockville, Maryland, was arrested on Jan. 31 and charged with laptop theft under Virginia laws. According to a MWAA director, he was taken into the Arlington County Adult Detention Center and afterward released.
Following further research, government also charged Jonathan Savoy, 45, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, with laptop theft on Feb. 2. Savoy was released on a call by a judge.
Both people are accused of creating an unapproved version of Airports Authority information, even though authorities did not specify how the film was obtained or distributed.

The video of this terrible crash was made public. The system proudly announced that they had obtained the video, which depicts the plane and helicopter colliding with one another from a perspective that is not apparent in another webcam footage of the incident. The small picture captures the incident, the resulting blast, and its fallout.

Both people are accused of obtaining Airports Authority information without permission. The men either provided the film without getting paid for it or sold it, though.

The higher level of overcrowding in the airport around Reagan National, where large traffic has caused many close calls in recent years, including one that occurred between an aircraft and a helicopter just a day before the fatal accident, is a major concern.
The FAA made clear that staffing levels were” not standard for the time of day and the volume of traffic,” a clear indication of a widespread problem. This problem was only made worse by the Biden administration’s mistaken getting laws, which prioritized variety over merit, finally shutting out thousands of highly qualified light applicants.
