According to the Denver Post, ICE raided a minimum of three apartment complexes in Aurora on Wednesday night after a report of Tren de Aragua action. The Edge at Lowry, in addition to Whispering Pines and Fitzsimons Place rooms, is the most well-known of the compounds that ICE raided.
CBZ Management, an operations firm that claimed in a complaint against Colorado in December that it could not keep the buildings because of group activity, runs all of the buildings.  ,

In a videos shared on social media, acting ICE Director Caleb Vitello stated,” We’re here today to do an at-large police activity looking for Tren de Aragua, the crew members these from Venezuela.” ” However, we have to travel to the neighborhoods because we don’t get the assistance we need from the prison”.
If we could consider these people into custody from a secure environment, it would be much easier and safer for our officers and agents, he added. However, if we had to enter the area to do this, we’re going to do it, he continued.
How some TdA suspects were being detained or detained as of Wednesday evening is unknown.
ICE officers were supported by members of various other federal authorities during its operations on Wednesday, including the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Bombs, Customs and Border Protection, and the FBI.  ,
After then-GOP political candidate Donald Trump claimed on the campaign trail that TDA had infiltrated apartment buildings in the Denver area, Aurora gained acclaim in 2024.  ,
His remarks at the time sparked a national conversation about how much of the Aurora gang was active, with some detractors calling Trump’s claims wildly exaggerated. Trump supporters argued the town was a portrait of the effects of the Biden administration’s comfortable border policies, letting harmful criminals, including from TdA, into the region.  ,
Trump made a promise to voters that he would start” Operation Aurora” if elected president and take ICE and federal agents to Colorado and other states to reduce TDA suspects as he traveled the country last drop. He complied with this promise as he campaigned and won. Since Trump took office, ICE has carried out numerous attacks on thieves in the country without authorization to deport them, with Aurora being the most recent raid on Wednesday.
In January, nine TdA defendants were charged with second-degree theft, first-degree rape, aggravated assault, second-degree crime, blackmail, and menacing residents at the Edge at Lowry.
Government suggested that defendants had moved to the city to avoid investigation after originally operating in Aurora when 40 illegal refugees were detained later that month in Denver.
