On Wednesday, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas ) announced his intention to file articles of impeachment against President Trump, in an apparent kneejerk, antisemitic reaction to Trump’s joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday.
” And also I rise, Mr. Speaker. And I rise now, Mr. Speaker, with a’ To Whom It May Concern ‘ text”, he began.
Who may be concerned that the President of the United States, the most powerful person in the world, has the ability to best what he says, is not a joke when it occurs. The Prime Minister of Israel may be afraid, knowing the history of his individuals, and have it and permit for things to be said. Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke. Cultural cleaning has been a crime against humanity. And I am standing in the well now to reject what was said, to reject what the President said, to reject the Israeli Prime Minister’s involvement, and to reiterate Dr. King’s statement that injustice everywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. And the United States of America is threatened by inequity in Gaza.

On the House ground, Green declared,” I rise to inform you that the motion to impeach the President has begun.” I hereby apologise for the President’s actions and the president’s activities done. I may bring articles of impeachment against him. I even rise to suggest that the prosecution action is going to be a grass-up action, not a top-down”.

I’m quite sure that the words “dastardly transgressions” don’t seem anywhere in the Constitution, but hey, since when have Democrats cared about the Constitution?  ,
” The folks have got to walk ahead”, Green continued. The people must make it need. And when folks want it, it will be done. I laid the groundwork for prosecution before, and it was accomplished. No one is more knowledgeable than I am about it, and I am aware that it is necessary for us to lay the groundwork once more. It is preferable to have only on some issues than to not stand at all. On this matter, I stand only but I stand for righteousness”.

Green is not a man to challenging Trump for an article of prosecution, and I believe that is pretty much the only thing he knows how to accomplish. For articles don’t have a chance, with Republicans controlling the House. However, as we know from Trump’s first leadership, when he took office with Democratic control of the House and Senate, Democrats bide their time, waiting for their chance to oust him for anything.
