On Wednesday, the White House attempted to clarify some of Donald Trump‘s statements regarding the US’s occupation of the Gaza Strip.
Press director Karoline Leavitt defended the idea in front of a dubious White House lecture room, claiming that Trump is an “outside-the-box scholar” who solves issues that others believe are invincible.
But she was immediately pressed for more details, such as whether the program may include U. S. soldiers and whether it contradicts Trump’s long-standing position against nation-building projects abroad.
Leavitt told a reporter,” I would reject the premise of your question, which is that this could compel the United States to engage in international conflicts.” The senator has no intention of deploying troops to Gaza.
Lake reiterated that Trump has not committed to sending troops to the troubled location when asked whether it would be worthwhile to lose a single U.S. Marine to make the Gaza strip the” Riviera of the Middle East.”
Trump’s recently appointed Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, later stated that the Pentagon is “prepared to look at all options” during a conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
” To the issue of Gaza, I did just say that the definition of insanity is trying to do the same thing over and over again,” Hegseth said.
Leavitt, who had promised that any refugees ‘ layoffs may be temporary or permanent, was another issue.
She stated at the White House,” The president has made it clear that they need to be partially relocated out of Gaza for the restoration work.”
Officials from Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the Muslim League released a statement condemning Trump’s proposed settlement of Palestinians as forced “evictions” that they would not permit “in any shape or under any conditions or reasons”.
Leavitt repeatedly referred to Gaza as a “demolition site,” saying it would take more than a decade to rebuild the enclave.
Leavitt also claimed that Netanyahu had been informed of the announcement in advance, which contradicted reports that the Israeli prime minister reportedly sat in shock after hearing Trump’s proposal.

Finally, Leavitt vehemently refrained from shifting Palestinians, saying that Gaza is no longer a place to live.
” Again, it’s a demolition site right now”, she said. ” It’s not a livable place for any human being. And I believe it to be quite offensive to suggest that people should live in such impoverished circumstances.
