According to the US Embassy and Philippine officials, a helicopter under US military deal crashed in a grain industry in southern Philippines on Thursday, killing all four of the occupants.
Although certain details were not immediately available, the Civil Aviation Authority of Philippines confirmed the light plane’s accident in Maguindanao del Sur state.
However, according to US Embassy director Kanishka Gangopadhyay’s statement to The Associated Press, the plane was under US military agreement, and the US Indo-Pacific Command would launch a assertion regarding the incident.
Ameer Jehad Tim Ambolodto, a health official from Maguindanao del Sur, reported that rescue teams recovered four body from the aircraft, all appearing to be international citizens. The deceased’s names are still undetermined. Rhea Martin, a member of the provincial rescue team, confirmed the death toll at the guaranteed crash site. She told AFP:” The bodies were found near the plane”, and added:” The aircraft was cut in half”.
The fixed-wing plane crashed near Ampatuan, a farming community on Mindanao area, killing it, police are looking into the cause.
