At least two people died as a result of a small aircraft colliding with other vehicles in a street close to Sao Paulo’s business district on Friday morning hours ( local time ), according to an official statement from the local fire service.
The plane crashed in the Barra Funda neighborhood, which is located on the west side of the city and is close to the city’s center. Wreckage from the plane struck a vehicle, causing injury to a female customer, whilst another piece hit a motorist, according to the statement. Both patients were receiving medical attention, as reported by the Associated Press.
Four more victims of the accident site were taken to local health facilities with non-serious injuries, according to a following update.
The plane was scheduled to take off from Rio Grande do Sul position in the south, where Porto Alegre is located.
While fire crews worked to stop the fire, movies that were posted on social media showed the vehicle and main body of the aircraft engulfed in flames.
