‘ Athletes assigned men at baby ‘ however properly training with women’s teams, connection says
The National Collegiate Athletics Association may prevent allowing female athletes to compete in children’s activities, a change in policy it made on Thursday in response to steps taken by the Trump administration.
Its new legislation, which the NCAA Board of Governors only approved, limits” opposition in women’s sports to student-athletes assigned feminine at baby only”, a media release states.
But,” student-athletes assigned female at baby” still will be allowed” to practice with children’s clubs and receive benefits such as health care while practicing”, according to the plan change.
The shift merely applies to children’s activities.
” Regardless of sex assigned at birth or gender identity, a student-athlete may participate ( practice and competition ) in NCAA men’s sports …” the association stated.
The new legislation goes into result soon, according to the NCAA.
According to the transfer, the relationship is requiring NCAA team to “help all participant schools develop respectful and equitable collegiate athletic cultures” and requires schools to provide mental health services to students.
” This regional regular brings much needed precision as we upgrade school activities for tomorrow’s student-athletes”, its President Charlie Baker stated in the media release.
” We strongly believe that clear, consistent, and uniform eligibility standards would best serve today’s student-athletes instead of a patchwork of conflicting state laws and court decisions”, Baker stated. ” To that end, President Trump’s order provides a clear, national standard”.
Signed Wednesday, Trump’s executive order directs the U. S. Department of Education to use Title IX to enforce a ban on males who identify as female playing in women’s sports, The College Fix reported.
If they do not, K-12 and higher education institutions may lose funding from the federal government.
” With this executive order the war on women’s sports is over”, Trump said.
Female athletes filed a lawsuit against the NCAA last year, alleging that its policy, which allowed male athletes to compete in women’s sports, violated their privacy and equal opportunity.
Female student athletes have reported injuries, lost awards and opportunities, violations of privacy, and other problems due to male athletes who identify as transgender being allowed to compete in women’s sports.
