President Donald Trump stated on Friday that he is directing Elon Musk and the Department of Government Performance to target certain government agencies and organizations, with the Pentagon scheduled for a evaluation in the near future.
After their reviews led Trump to decide to shutter the U.S. Agency for International Development, Musk and DOGE have recently drawn strong condemnation. The Trump administration claims that the government spent millions of taxpayer dollars on useless jobs around the world.

Less than 300 of the over ten 000 USAID people are being kept on by the state, according to reports that Trump intends to keep a significantly smaller global development team at the State Department.
The president confirmed that an audit of the Pentagon would shortly be taking place, but he did not say at a press conference on Friday whether he had told Musk that some organizations or departments Expand” cannot touch”.
“I’ll show him to go here, get it. He does it. He’s got a very worthy group of people, really, very, very, very worthy. They know what they’re doing”, Trump stated. ” I’ve instructed him to go into training, go into military, move into other things as we go on, and they’re finding large amounts of scams, abuse, spend, all of these things”.
” I may find out a goal, and I say,’ Get in,'” he continued. ” There could be places that we didn’t, but I think things rich”.
During his Friday conference at the Pentagon with military officers, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also made an announcement that some applications or projects might remain cut in the future.
” There’s a lot of programs around here that we spend a lot of money on that, when you really combat activity it, don’t have the effect you want them to”, he said. ” One of the advantages I have is … I don’t have any special interests. I don’t have a history invested in any systems or service. I’m deist to that”.
The original Fox News host said he’s “prepared” to “take a lot of bolts”, in his efforts to stir things up at the office.
” We need the best networks in the arms of war soldiers”, Hegseth added.
The president made the claim during his media event that he wouldn’t feel Social Security benefits, but acknowledged that Musk and his DOGE staff are able to get citizens ‘ sensitive data and social security numbers fairly quickly.
” Why does Expand need all of that”? a writer asked Trump.
” It doesn’t, but they get it very easily”, Trump replied. ” And we don’t have very good protection in our land, and they get it very quickly”.
Trump did vehemently help Marko Elez’s return to the DOGE job. Elez, one of Musk’s 25-year-old “engineers” who had been working on the reviews of national headquarters, resigned earlier this week after his history of social media content had been unearthed by media outlets.
Vice President JD Vance stated on X earlier on Friday that Elez may be permitted to go back to his DOGE job.
