A federal prosecutor rejected a request by some of the most prominent organizations to appoint Elon Musk’s Department of Government Performance to access the Department of Labor’s information.

AFL-CIO and five other significant labour unions were hit by DOGE’s efforts to stop the Education Department, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau when U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia handed down a decision on Friday.

In a court order, Bates wrote that Musk had some reservations about accessing governmental records, and that “at least one specific member is considerably likely to suffer an injuries” with DOGE entry. The health and financial information of “millions of Americans” are included in this information. But on the latest report, claimants have failed to establish standing”.

On Wednesday, the six unions filed a lawsuit against DOGE, alleging that Musk’s organization “violated numerous laws, including those protecting civil servants from random threats and negative actions, and those protecting government data collected and stored on the lives of hundreds of millions of Americans.”

Prior to Bates ‘ judgement on Friday, the Labor Department had reached a temporary contract with the organizations to restrict DOGE’s access to the data.

” Slashing waste, fraud, and mistreatment, and becoming better managers of the American taxpayer’s hard-earned money may be a crime to Democrats, but it’s not a crime in a court of law”, White House spokeswoman Harrison Fields told the Washington Post in a statement defending DOGE’s authority to investigate governmental agencies.

Musk has a victory in a different court with Bates ‘ ruling against the labor unions.

In order to conduct its investigation into government spending and corruption, a federal judge on Saturday issued a ruling that would outbid DOGE from using the Treasury Department’s payment system.

DOGE is currently engaged in a significant investigation into federal bureaucracies over how they use federal funds and examining allegations of corruption. The department was established by President Donald Trump after he won a second term in office, and Musk is taking the lead.
