Elon Musk called for the removal of the federal judge who restricted his federal spending task force’s access to Treasury Department payment systems.
” A corrupt prosecutor protecting corruption”, Musk tweeted in the early days of Sunday morning. He needs to be impeached right away!
A ruling on Saturday by US District Judge Paul Engelmayer effectively removes Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) from the system containing sensitive information and forbids special government employees and external officials from accessing it.
The previous time, 19 Democrat state attorneys general filed a lawsuit challenging Musk and his team’s right to access sensitive information.
This occurrence is yet another example of how Trump’s supporters and the judiciary are currently at odds with one another.
Trump and his supporters have constantly questioned the legitimacy of courts, judges, and law enforcement when their choices have not aligned with the government’s choices.
In explaining his conviction, Engelmayer highlighted two major problems, the possible exposure of sensitive and confidential data, and an increased risk of the systems to security breaches, which led him to help the plaintiffs ‘ place.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave Musk and his partners exposure to departmental systems earlier this month.
Although the Treasury stated that Musk’s team had “read-only” protections, which presumably prevented information changes or termination, Wired disclosed that one DOGE staff member received rights to improve program code.
Marko Elez, a 25-year-old citizen, is one of a group of young people who Musk chose for his task force without any previous government experience. Trump tasked Expand with identifying potential$ 2 trillion savings and reductions in federal government spending.
Elez resigned after the Wall Street Journal learned of his racial comments on X, but Musk quickly accepted his resignation. Also, a 19-year-old part of Musk’s team was dismissed from a security company for disclosing confidential organization information.
The temporary order issued by Engelmayer is in effect until Friday, when a decision will be made regarding the injunction’s expansion during the constitutional process.
