Donald Trump, president of the United States, made an announcement on Sunday that he would start a new round of tariffs earlier this year, which would include 25 % taxes on all steel and aluminum imports and separate reciprocal taxes.
As he prepared to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Trump revealed his plans to investigators aboard Air Force One. He defended the idea of more levies in his remarks, which he had leveraged throughout his next term.

After Trump was scheduled to impose 25 % tariffs on all U.S. goods from the two nations, the new tax plan comes after a conflict with Mexico and Canada. Hispanic President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reaffirmed their commitment to working with the Trump presidency on border security before they were scheduled to go into effect, which sparked a 30-day delay.
Trump restored an exemption for products under$ 800 coming from the Asian nation after a separate 10 % tariff was announced at the same time on Chinese products imported into the United States.
