Attended the 2025 Artificial Intelligence Action Summit, Vice President JD Vance took his second international trip since taking the oath of office next month.
The meeting will take place on Feb. 10 and 11 at the Grand Palais in Paris, France. It is the evil president’s first of many high-profile discussions with foreign leaders this year.
Vance may travel to Germany for the Munich Security Conference after the mountain, where he is expected to urge NATO users to increase their financial aid for Ukraine as it fights Russia.
While in Europe, Vance is scheduled to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Vance emphasized the value of option and how artificial intelligence may transform society as a whole in his opening address.
” I’m not here this day to talk about AI health,” Vance said at the meeting a few years ago. ” I’m here to talk about AI chance”.
He elaborated on the Trump administration’s perspective regarding AI and commented on the many benefits the tech may take, calling it “one of the most appealing systems” developed in decades.
” When events like this attend to explore cutting-edge technology, often, I think, our response is to be very self-conscious, to risk-averse”, Vance said. ” But never have I encountered a breakthrough in technology that calls us to do the exact opposite.”
” Then our administration, the Trump administration, believes that AI will have many innovative programs, economic development, job creation, national security, medical, free appearance, and beyond”, the vice president explained. And to impede its growth today would not only unfairly gain incumbent in this field, but it would also suggest paralyzing one of the most promising technology that we’ve seen in generations.
Vance then provided a synopsis of the Trump administration’s objectives for AI.
” With that in mind, I’d like to make four main points today”, Vance said. ” Number one, this administration will make sure that American AI technology continues to be the gold standard worldwide, and we’re the partner of choice for others, foreign countries, and certainly businesses as they expand their own use of AI,” said the president.
We think that an AI sector that is overregulated could kill a transformative industry as it is expanding, according to Vance. ” We’ll make every effort to encourage pro-growth AI policies, and I’d like to see that deregulatory flavor, making its way in a lot of the conversations this conference”.
” Number three, we feel very strongly that AI , must remain free from ideological bias, and the American AI will not be co-opted into a tool for authoritarian censorship”, he added.
” And finally, number four, the Trump administration will maintain a pro-worker growth path for AI to be a job creation point in the United States”, Vance said.
The vice president then praised India’s prime minister for stating that artificial intelligence would not ultimately replace human workers.
” I appreciate Prime Minister Modi’s point”, Vance said. ” AI, I really believe, will facilitate and make people more productive. It will take its place in terms of people. It won’t ever replace people, and I believe too many leaders in the AI sector, when they discuss the possibility of replacing workers, miss the point.
” AI, we believe, is going to make us more productive, more prosperous, and more free”, Vance asserted.
The AI summit, which” will bring together almost 100 nations and over a thousand private sector and civil society representatives from across the world,” is co-hosted by Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit has five main themes: public interest in AI, future of work, innovation and culture, trust in AI, and global AI governance.
Macron unveiled private sector investments in AI intelligence worth nearly 109 billion euros the day before the two-summit started. Trump also announced a private-sector investment of at least$ 500 billion in AI infrastructure from OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle last month.
Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing was a member of the gathering of global leaders in Paris, which suggested that China is taking the rise of AI seriously.
The Chinese artificial intelligence model DeepSeek, which was released last month, surprised the technology sector by its claim that it could cost less than Open AI’s ChatGPT.
