On Tuesday, US Vice President J D Vance endorsed PM Narendra Modi‘s position on AI and declared that the systems will increase productivity and not change people.
” And I appreciate PM Modi’s level. AI, I really believe, may help and make people more effective. It won’t be able to remove people. It won’t ever exchange people. And I think too many frontrunners in the AI sector, when they talk about this phobia of replacing workers, “really missed the point,” Vance said in a statement at the Artificial summit in Paris, warning Europe to be wary of tech rules and that any tough method had the ability to strangle AI.
Modi stated in his mountain talk that history had demonstrated that jobs do not disappear as a result of technology, and that he had called for more money to be put into training and reskilling.
” Loss of jobs is AI’s most feared disruption. However, research has demonstrated that technological advancement does not cause labor to vanish. Its environment alterations, and fresh jobs are created. We must engage in training and retraining our workforce for a future with AI,” Modi said.
He added AI could help change millions of lives by improving health, education, crops. The PM said it could also contribute to making the earth a more convenient and quick place to pursue the sustainable development goals. We may combine our resources and skills. We must grow open-source techniques that improve trust and transparency. We must develop value data sets, free from prejudices. We had democratise technology and make people-centric programs”, Modi said.
He and Modi appeared to have immediately struck it off in their first meeting after Vance assumed the role of vice president, and pictures from the meeting showed the two officials at ease and eager to work together to advance diplomatic relations between the two largest governments.
