Gov. Governor Newsom (D-CA ) announced his intention to veto a bill in California that would stifle state prison officials ‘ interaction with immigration and customs enforcement.  ,
A Newsom spokesman confirmed that if Assembly Bill 15 is passed, he will vote against it. Last month, Newsom vetoed a comparable costs.
Assembly Bill 15, which was introduced by a Democrat, would expand the” sanctuary” law, SB 54, to include the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
The condition prison system can collaborate with ICE to take custody of those who have already served their sentences for a criminal. According to express information, since Newsom took office in 2019, California’s penitentiary system has coordinated with ICE on transferring around 10, 600 residents into federal prison.
Newsom argues that California’s prison program should keep a tight lid on communication with federal immigration enforcement to prevent ICE agents from interrogating illegal immigrants as they enter prison and are about to expire.
According to Newsom, “ICE will decide how to carry out its enforcement of national law.”
Related to Newsom, Gov.  , Maura Healey , (D-MA ) said she supports the “apprehension of criminals” in the state.
