False. The Trump cuts are likely to cause China to be upset.
Beijing discovers that its own concrete development initiatives are much more successful than USAID’s imposing American cultural agendas abroad. Beijing likes self-destructive American aid like LGBTQ activism, transgender chauvinism, and anti-conservative American media.
Does anyone think China was upset that USAID funded the University of Kabul’s extensive gender studies program, that the U.S. embassy there promoted its pride activism, or that it snagged$ 40 million to create deadly viruses for itself?
China will be unhappy that USAID’s subsidies for organizations like the BBC and the New York Times are ending. After all, they, along with China, so often vilified their shared existential nemesis– Donald J. Trump.
