Strange: There isn’t a single image or picture of the “offenders.”
Instructors at a majority-Hispanic northern New Jersey high school are under investigation for supposedly donning “offensive”” Gulf of America” t-shirts.
Shortly after taking office, President Trump signed an executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. Salespeople immediately took benefit.
According to NorthJersey .com, a” small group of staff members” ( all male, according to a local resident ) at Belleville High School reportedly coordinated the politically charged wardrobe on a January 31 “dress down” day.
The shirts obviously “offended some students and employees”.
One Belleville teacher blasted her shirt-wearing colleagues on social media for “attempt]ing ] to bully Latino students who fear Trump’s threatened Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids”, NJ.com reports.
” Our student system has been suffering, crying, coming into institution, letters from children saying their kids are not letting come back for fear that they get picked up by ICE attacks”, the professor posted. ” I feel as though those t-shirts at Belleville High School are clearly communicating to these children,” said one student.
Curiously, no videos or photos of the teachers sporting the shirts have already surfaced. More than 1,500 students attend Bonneville High. This may be because students are “afraid to discuss them for fear of getting in problem,” according to the Social group Belleville Watch.

From the NJ.com history:
]Superintendent Nicholas ] Perrapato sent a letter ]see below ] to parents, staff and the school community in which he acknowledged” a recent situation that has caused concern within our school community”, and said the matter was being addressed “internally”.
We understand that this has had a variety of effects on members of our community, and we take these concerns really, Perrapato wrote in the letter.” Last year, a small team of staff members wore coordinated clothing that some students and staff found offensive,” Perrapato wrote.
Perrapato stated that it would be addressed in accordance with region policies and procedures but declined to provide details because it was a personnel issue. …
According to Perrapato,” we recognize that democratic discussion can be particularly charged, and we encourage thoughtful behavior and polite conversation among our staff and students,” adding that college counselors may be available for all students in need of assistance. ” We are determined to work together to make sure that our institutions continue to be a good learning environment.”
Belleville Public Schools district plan “generally” bans teachers from engaging in “political action” at school but “doesn’t contract forbid clothes with political phrases”. Additionally, the policy protects” constitutionally protected speech.”
