Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, criticized online for posting about a soccer game soon after a Delta plane accident at the Toronto airport, demonstrating indifference.
The 53-year-old head shared information on X about Canada’s triumph over Finland at the 4 Countries game on Monday afternoon, when Delta Flight 4819 crashed-landed at Toronto Pearson Airport in extreme weather conditions.
The event, which resulted in slight injury to 18 travellers, saw all 80 inhabitants miraculously survived after the plane overturned. The reason remains under investigation, Daily Mail reported.
Although the situation was handled by the government, PM Trudeau’s soon acknowledgment sparked controversy.
Trudeau’s even acknowledgment of the affair was made late on Monday night when he shared Anita Anand’s declaration with Transport Minister:” I want to thank all the first firefighters and staff members following today’s event at Pearson Airport. The injured and their families are in my feelings. We will give anything we can to help the inspection.
The outgoing Prime Minister, who announced his resignation last quarter, faced criticism for his delayed answer. Users of social media sites expressed sorrow, highlighting his prioritization of sports over the aerospace event.
One man posted:” There was a helicopter crash you know”. Another added: ‘ Any terms on the Delta aircraft crash@Pearson International today?”
Don’t you share my sympathies with the Canadians who were killed in a plane collision now, one other person said. Happily there were no incidents. ” Another users commented:” A plane crash in Toronto and c***womble Trudeau is posting about a sports game? Are you critical?!?!?!?”
This reply further damaged Trudeau’s status, now diminished by common concerns over rising food costs, cover prices and emigration issues.
New film footage released on Tuesday showed the Delta plane sliding on the snowy airport at Toronto Pearson, with lights erupting from beneath as it came into contact with the ground. The film shows Endeavor Airlines for Delta Flight 4819 touching down before dark smoke came out of the plane.
