Most of the rhetoric opposed to SAVE can be traced to the left-leaning Center for American Progress and Brennan Center for Justice, both of whom have connections to the strong hands of the Open Society Foundations, the most eminent task of meddling billionaire George Soros, as Republicans use their new majority in Congress to pass the SAVE Act and impose membership requirements.
It seems a little ask to involve people registering to vote to give proof of United States citizen in a country where only residents are legally allowed to cast ballots. That is what the” Safeguard American Voter Eligibility” ( SAVE ) Act , does. The costs, sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, may involve in-person voter registration and documents proving U. S. citizen by showing a REAL ID, U. S. card, military recognition, birth certificate, or various forms of identification.
The SAVE Act, however, is vehemently opposed by the left, who claims it is too difficult for people to get these documents, and that it would end online voting registration and voter registration drives carried out by political groups. In other words, the SAVE Act may make it more difficult to vote scams.
Democrats are planning a war to fight the SAVE Act, but Republicans are hardly talking about it. Thanks to the public’s underwater communication system, opposition to SAVE is spreading like influenza in a migrant house.  ,
The Center for American Progress ( CAP ) and the Brennan Center for Justice are the focal points of a media frenzy that oppose the SAVE Act, as I reported last week. Managing the message doesn’t stop with a media blitz. A network of nonprofit activist groups with whom these organizations are connected are coordinating email blasts to share similar messages: fundraising requests ( send money ), education ( oppose SAVE), and call to action ( write to your member of Congress ).
The nonprofits working against election integrity use language so close to the CAP ( gross receipts$ 40.3 million ) or the Brennan Center For Justice ($ 225 million gross receipts ) that it can’t be a coincidence. Some organizations even have ties to one or both of the organizations that spearheaded the SAVE attack. The organization’s most recent 990 tax exempt nonprofit forms, which show that CAP employs at least nine people who make more than$ 100, 000, are based on those figures.
CAP CEO Patrick Gaspard earned more than$ 400, 000 in 2022, topping former President Joe Biden’s salary. Prior to joining CAP, Gaspard served as president of Open Society Foundations. The$ 9 million Center For American Progress Action Fund ( CAP Fund ) also provides for Gaspard’s salary. The well-known Democratic communication firm SKDK was paid for its communication work by the CAP Fund in 2022.
The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law describes itself as a “nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve our systems of democracy and justice.” It has at least 11 employees earning more than$ 230, 000 annually, with president and attorney Michael A. Waldman earning more than$ 600, 000 in 2022. He contributed to former US president Bill Clinton’s speechwriting, and he’s a welcome addition to” Morning Joe,”” The Rachel Maddow Show,” and” All Things Considered” on NPR.
The Brennan Center For Justice has received” substantial funding” from the Soros-connected Open Society Institute, according to Influence Watch. The center has frequently been mentioned in Open Society initiatives. The Center hosted a 2021 forum promoting Soros and Open Societies.
Nonprofits   Dabbling in Politics
Here is a closer look at how this web of nonprofits work together, like an extra branch of government, driving public opinion. Following groups sent emails to their lists within days of each other warning that the SAVE Act will “disenfranchise millions of eligible voters.”
The SAVE Act requires documentation of citizenship to register and cast ballot, according to an email sent on January 25 from Inequality Media Civic Action, which was co-founded by Robert Reich, a former secretary of labor under former President Bill Clinton. But proving citizenship isn’t always straightforward, and for many, the necessary documents are either difficult or impossible to produce”.
It is unclear how many illegal votes would make the issue” significant” in Inequality Media’s eyes, but if one person can vote illegally, our voting system is vulnerable. Brianna Lyman, a colleague of mine, has written about noncitizens casting ballots in American elections.  ,
The nonprofit Inequality Media Civic Action has the aim of “educating and engaging the public on economic inequality and imbalance of power in America through digital media.” According to its most recent 990 tax exempt form, 2022, the group had gross receipts of$ 986, 000. Reich was paid$ 150, 000 that year as an independent contractor.  ,  ,
In a direct message to Congress, Reich offers a link that invites readers to send a message on behalf of Inequality Media Civic Action urging them to repeal the SAVE Act and “protect every American’s right to vote without unnecessary documentation requirements.”
The link leads to a page sponsored by The Workers Circle, another nonprofit, with the headline,” Oppose the SAVE Act Voter Suppression Bill Today” . , This link has a list of 21 related nonprofits promoted through the Action Network which amplifies the messages of leftist nonprofits.
The Workers Circle, formerly called the Workmen’s Circle, is a$ 16.9 million nonprofit with a mission to “build progressive Jewish identity and community through Jewish cultural engagement, Yiddish language learning, multigenerational education and social activism”, its most recent 990 tax exempt form from 2022 shows. With CEO and Executive Director Ann Toback earning more than$ 259, 000 that year, at least seven of its employees make six figures.  ,
Toback’s far-left views are featured on the nonprofit’s press release page, which begins with” This is not the first time in history that fascists have risen to power through democratic means” and then goes on to say” This we know: these newly elected anti-democratic leaders will continue to work to divide us, terrify us, and immobilize us.” They violate the Constitution and are willing to use violence and the Justice Department to defame opponents, defame our rights, and impose their agenda.
On February 5, All On the Line, a non-profit, sent an” action alert” email that misrepresented the SAVE Act.
” This bill isn’t about election integrity. It’s about silencing voters. There is no proof of widespread voter fraud, and states already have robust voter eligibility checks in place. What is the SAVE Act’s true purpose? to make voting for eligible Americans more difficult. We can’t let them get away with this. Demand that your congressional representatives vote NO on the Save Act by clicking the button below. A convenient form letter is provided by the link. Simply add your name to the send message.
A left-leaning nonprofit organization with a focus on redrawing congressional voter maps, All On the Line is an advocacy group funded by the National Redistricting Action Fund ( gross receipts$ 7.3 million ). But they want more money. Supporters can make donations through ActBlue, a Democrat fundraising arm. The board of the fund is led by former President Barack Obama attorney general Eric Holder.  ,
According to its 2022 nonprofit tax exempt form, at least seven staff members make more than$ 100, 000 annually. The fund is connected to the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and the National Redistricting Foundation ( gross receipts are$ 10 million ). The Elias Law Group received$ 1.4 million for policy litigation that year from the foundation. Marc Elias, the law group’s former chair, is a far left attorney The Federalist has written about many times. He founded the Democracy Docket, an activist law initiative.  ,  ,
Nonprofit Vote ( Gross receipts$ 1 million ) sends a Feb. 7 email blast asking recipients to contact Congress in opposition to the SAVE Act. Its website claims to have” More than 100 national and state partners” with it. One of those partners is Dominicanos USA , ( gross receipts$ 874, 000 in 2022 ), which says it has a vision” that every person living in the U. S. can freely exercise their civic rights”.
The most historically ineffective Republicans may be tricked by the black eye the left is trying to give the SAVE Act unless conservatives improve their messaging infrastructure, despite a Republican-led Congress.
