Roughly a dozen Central Intelligence Agency employees who were working on diversity, equity, participation, and accessibility initiatives at the detective agency were temporarily put on hold by a federal prosecutor.

President Donald Trump’s administration is given until Thursday to respond to a request for a temporary restraining order from the intelligence officers following their fire, according to U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga’s attempt. According to NBC News, the intelligence officials are one of the 51 CIA and Office of the Director of National Intelligence people who were instructed to report to work on Wednesday with their medals and without a lawyer, an attempt that indicated their immediate dismissal.

The soldiers are “nonpartisan” job knowledge experts who were partially assigned to work on La initiatives, according to the lawsuit filed on Monday by former CIA agent Kevin Carroll. The lawsuit called their firing “arbitrary” and” capricious” and “unsupported by any evidentiary record whatsoever” .&nbsp,

Moreover, according to the lawsuit, Trump’s professional order to remove all La jobs from the federal government did not go as far as to require the firing of employees briefly working for these types of programs. The plaintiffs contend that the officers fired were never viewed as such because the CIA does have the authority to fire officials who were deemed a threat to national security.

While on administrative leave, these intelligence officials may continue to receive full pay and benefits.

Some of the Trump government’s layoffs in other companies have even created uncertainty. After some members of Congress petitioned Energy Secretary Chris Wright last year, about 300 federal workers who had been fired from the National Nuclear Security Administration received rescinded their pregnancies citing national security threats.
