GOP lawmakers claim that acknowledging this fundamental biological fact will make Iowans prepared for a return to sobriety.
Prompted by modifications under the Trump presidency, Iowa’s three public universities just removed many “gender” possibilities from their enrollment applications.
The programs then ask students to recognize their intercourse by choosing male, female, or “prefer not to solution”, The Gazette reports. University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and University of Northern Iowa are the state’s open institutions.
According to a report published on the Iowa Board of Regents site, prior to the changes, the University of Iowa app allowed individuals to choose from “at least seven various women.”
The possibilities were: “agender, transgender, man, nonbinary, transgender, girl, another female not listed above, and prefer not to solution”, according to The Gazette.
Prompting the shift was a notice from Iowa Rep. Taylor Collins, R-Mediapolis, and Sen. Lynn Evans, R-Aurelia, to the Board of Regents on Feb. 10.
According to a copy of the letter that was made available on the governors ‘ site,” President Trump has made it the formal policy of the United States that there are only two women — male and female.”
The politicians demanded that the governors “adopt the same coverage as President Trump” and stop” opposed methods” like listing multiple female options on their admissions applications.

According to the document to the governors, the colleges changed their applications to the two-sex solution as of February 13.
” Concerns on gender have been removed from the school programs”, the statement says.
The governors are scheduled to meet Feb. 27.
According to an administrative order, President Donald Trump declared it” the policy of the United States to identify two women, both male and female.” Additionally, it acknowledges that” [t]hese women are grounded in basic and unmistakable reality and are not flexible.”
