NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Visitors at the Conservative Political Action Conference a plan to keep the Republican in the White House after a minute word is a clout among those who celebrated President Donald Trump’s giddy resumption.
A press conference scheduled for Thursday from the Third Term Project, which is pushing to change presidential term limits to help Trump to work a second time in 2028, was Trump’s passionate support among the attendees.
Shane Trejo, the battle guide for the Third Term Project, pointed to Trump’s battles against the “deep state” as just one purpose they are supporting Rep. The amendment to the Constitution that would help Trump and upcoming leaders to provide a third term is proposed by Andy Ogles (R-TN).
Trejo told the Washington Examiner,” We need President Trump to have a third word to be able to finish the job and put together policies that will last years.” “After Trump has his third term, [Vice President ] JD [Vance ] will be able to come in and take it from there. Trump must be viewed as the wrecking ball. ”
The resolution, according to Olles, would help Trump to provide an additional four years in the White House but hardly a second term if a president had previously served two terms, which may preclude most living presidents, aside from Joe Biden, who announced his bid for a second term next summer.
Steve Bannon, the former Trump White House aide and media executive, endorsed the third-term strategy during his fiery speech on the CPAC stage.
Donald Trump is the MAGA’s future! ” Bannon said to cheers Thursday night. “We want Trump in ’28. That’s what they can’t stand. A man like Trump comes along only once or twice in the country ’s history. We want Trump! ”

The Third Term Project is still in its early stages, laying the groundwork for a possible attack on Republican lawmakers, particularly those in the House Freedom Caucus.
“Right now, no other co-sponsors have come to support the measure, so we want to get more Republicans on the record in support of this, ” Trejo said.
Trejo claims that the founding fathers didn’t restrict presidents from serving two terms, but that no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.
“If you look at, you know, constitutional changes, the original intent of the Constitution, they had no term limits for executives, ” he said. Later in the 20th century, that was incorporated into the Constitution. So, you know, presidential term limits are not a part of the original intent of the Constitution if we’re talking about what the founding fathers want, which is typically what conservatives support. So we reject the constitutional argument. ”
The details of when Trump will speak at the conference have not yet been released, but Vance touted the administration ’s breakneck actions during his CPAC address Thursday, exactly one month after the inauguration.
In his speech, the president is likely to pounce on his efforts to replace or cancel several of Biden’s legislative initiatives, including working to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and crack down on illegal immigration.
Ahead of Trump’s speech, attendees championed Trump’s avalanche of executive orders, including declaring a national emergency at the southern border, banning transgender athletes from women’s sports, and his speed at reshaping the federal government.
“We’re excited for the future. We love events like this because it ’s like-minded individuals. We build reciprocal relationships, ” said Nick Passino, 37, a crypto leader from upstate New York. We have four years to turn this country around. Every day matters. ”
Passino also called Trump’s one-month tenure “extraordinary ” and “historic. ”
“It’s a very exciting vibe, ” said Jane Stewart, a retired senior from Florida. I’ve been attending CPAC for five years, and I just have to say that the atmosphere is fantastic. ”
During last year’s CPAC, Sonja Harper, a 60-year-old retired dental hygienist from southeast Texas, was concerned about the future of the nation as Trump sought the presidency for a third time.
“We weren’t sure what was going to happen in our country. And now we are just, it ’s amazing the energy that we have, ” said Harper, who adorned herself in Statue of Liberty attire. “The hope that we have, you know, I mean, God has ignited the flame of freedom. ”
Attendees praised Trump’s pace of action.
According to Maurice LaPointe, co-creator of the Patriots Career Network,” I think he came out faster than I thought he would, with how quickly he moved with the executive orders and now with the confirmations of Tulsi and RFK.”
Trump’s dominance of the GOP in the House and Senate has resulted in the confirmation of some of his most contentious Cabinet members with little opposition. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. , a former Democrat, is now health and human services secretary despite past vaccine skepticism, and Tulsi Gabbard, another former Democrat, is now director of national intelligence.
LaPointe, who created his own headdress for CPAC, said,” It will be difficult to stop the momentum that we have right now, so we might as well keep our foot on the gas pedal.”
In a statement from Trump, a Chicago native who spends some of her time in Nashville, Tennessee, Vam Roehl cited his leadership skills by collaborating with tech billionaires Vance and Elon Musk.
“I’m excited. Just the team that he’s bringing, ” Roehl said. “ He’s just like brought in a team of some of the best people, and Elon’s not my personality, but I do like X, and it ’s like my favorite social media source. ”
Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss emphasized her support in an interview with the Washington Examiner, while even American allies across the pond were cheery about Trump’s return to power.

It was really important for us, conservatives in Europe, that President Trump won because it seemed like the world was heading in the wrong direction, Truss said. We consider Trump’s victory as the first domino in the opposite direction.
We believe that people are willing to support the bold measures that President Trump is proposing in his executive orders as a sign that they are willing to change, she continued. ”
