In a fresh federal garden of American soldiers, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to honor Prince Estabrook, an imprisoned man who was wounded while fighting the British Army in 1775.
Trump addressed a Black History Month welcome at the White House on Thursday, saying,” An oppressed black man named Prince Estabrook responded to history’s contact and fought as the confederates alongside the other patriots of the very little Massachusetts area… Prince was hurt in the first morning challenge, making him the first African American man to fight in the revolution and one of the very first Americans to pour their own blood.
” The yard will largely have incredible people like Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and Coretta Scott King”, Trump said.
” We’re going to make some of the most beautiful works of art in the form of a memorial for guys like Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, Jackie Robinson, what a great swimmer, MLK Jr., Muhammad Ali, and Kobe Bryant”, Trump added.
Trump had previously proposed a similar proposal via professional order. Upon returning to office next month, he reintroduced this professional order.
Tiger Woods and Trump both addressed a sizable crowd of guests at the East Room occasion. ” Welcome to the White House. And we boldly celebrate Black History Month”, Trump said.
He continued:” Now, we pay tribute to the decades of Black traditions, warriors, warriors and republicans who helped push our country forwards to greatness. And you really are wonderful, wonderful people”.
The attendees included prominent Black supporters, such as Republican Sen. Tim Scott, Rep. John James, Alveda King ( Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece ), Herschel Walker ( Trump’s nominee for US ambassador to the Bahamas ), and prison reform advocate Alice Johnson, who received his pardon in 2020.
Before Trump granted mercy, Johnson had been serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for non-violent drug offenses.
During his statement, Trump specifically mentioned Johnson, announcing his goal to include her in his leadership.
” She’s going to get my forgive czar”, he stated.
The precise duties of this place are still unknown.
During the event, Trump said that the key executive of Pfizer, Albert Bourla, was in attendance — and the notice was met by shouts from the crowd.
” We even have Pfizer’s head in this room. So I want to congratulate him, one of the fantastic, fantastic people, one of the great businessmen”, Trump said, as the audience booed.
The guest list even included sports and leisure personalities: former ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele, ex-NFL person Jack Brewer, and music artists Kodak Black, Lil Boosie and Rod Wave, according to an unnamed national unauthorised to respond publicly.
