Secretary of State Marco Rubio laid out a common-sense method to U. S. foreign policy by suggesting American diplomacy may work in British objectives, and that when countries like Ukraine receive billions from U. S. citizens, it’s not too much to expect some “gratitude”.
In an interview with former CBS writer Catherine Herridge that was released on X Thursday, Rubio outlined those goals by initial reiterating Volodymyr Zelensky’s anti-White House bias in an interview with her former boss, Catherine Herridge.
” Joe Biden had concerns with Zelensky, folks don’t forget it”, Rubio said.
The State Department’s head made reference to information that Biden, the then-president, became upset with the Russian president because Zelensky “is quickly out that messaging what we’re no doing, or what he’s not getting” more than” thank you for all your aid.”
One such incident was covered by NBC News in October 2022.
Zelenskyy started listing all the extra help he needed and wasn’t getting when Biden” just about finished telling Zelenskyy he’d simply authorized another$ 1 billion in U.S. military aid for Ukraine,” according to the community. ” Biden lost his temper, the citizens acquainted with the telephone said. The British people were being very good, and his management and the U. S. war were working hard to help Ukraine, he said, raising his voice, and Zelenskyy may show a little more gratitude”.
During the meeting, Rubio continued to shape Zelensky as a hostile foreign artist for denying U. S. accessibility to his nation’s rich mineral reserves after American citizens funded Ukraine’s protection.
” We explained to them,’ look we want to be in joint venture with you not because we’re trying to steal from your country, but because we think that’s actually a security guarantee”, Rubio said.
Rubio explained that Zelensky and the United States had an initial understanding of the possibility of starting a mutually beneficial economic enterprise, but that just days later the Ukrainian president appeared in rumors that he had completely rejected it.
” So, you start to get upset …”, Rubio said. ” We’re trying to help these guys”.
Rubio explained that President Donald Trump’s foreign policy is based on what advantages Americans have.
” One of the points the president made in his messaging is not that we don’t care about Ukraine, but Ukraine is on another continent”, Rubio said. ” It doesn’t directly impact the daily lives of Americans. We are concerned about it because it will affect both our allies and ultimately the world.
” There should be some level of gratitude here about this”, Rubio added. ” And when you don’t see it and you see him out there accusing the president of living in a world of disinformation, that’s highly, very counterproductive”.
Trump, Rubio said, is” not the kind of person that’s going to sit there and take that … he sent a message that he’s not going to get gamed here”.
