
Ronnie Platt, the lead vocalist for” Kansas”, recently announced that he has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The rock group has been forced to reschedule several shows as a result of the treatment.
Platt confirmed to Fox News in a statement that he had spoken with his physician after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer and that surgery is on schedule for March 4.
” But way, the outcome has been very good”, Platt said. I’m looking forward to putting this behind me and getting back in the saddle as soon as possible. I appreciate the outpouring of support I’ve been receiving. Congratulate you”.
Last Saturday, the 64-year-old song announced his thyroid cancer treatment in a post on Facebook.
” For all of you asking, Tuesday I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer but before everyone gets all excited, it has a 99 % survival rate, it has not spread”, Platt wrote. ” It’s contained to my hormone. I just have to have my hormone removed. Recover some of the symptoms and you’ll soon be back in shape.

” I honestly love one’s positive thoughts and prayers”, the stone star added. ” I have some incredibly wonderful people going up against me!” As I’ve been told, this is just a bump in the road and will soon be behind me! therefore, somebody kindly CARRY ON”!
Following “band condition and doctor advice,” the strap was forced to cancel performances last Friday and Saturday following the announcement of Platt’s cancer diagnosis. Following Platt’s post on Facebook, the group also announced that an extra show for March would get rescheduled.
” According to channel sickness and doctor observation, the approaching KANSAS show on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Lake Charles, LA has been cancelled”, Kansas stated on Instagram. The band expresses regret for the trouble and hopes to return home quickly.
In a speech to Ultimate Classic Rock, J. R. Rees, the singer’s assistant director, said the aim is for the group to “be back on the road as soon as possible” but that the band is now” all focused on supporting Ronnie through this”.
