US health minister Robert F Kennedy Jr. on Thursday announced a new direction establishing “mother” as a female caregiver and “father” as a female family, as part of President Donald Trump’s “only two women” national legislation.
A “male” has a biological program capable of producing sperm, while a “female” has a biological system capable of producing eggs, according to the new direction issued by the Health and Human Services.
In the HHS statement, RFK Jr. was quoted as saying,” This administration is restoring common sense and biological truth to the federal government.”
” The previous government’s policy of trying to engineer gender ideology into every aspect of common life is over”, he added.
The announcement marks a reversal of the fad in the US over the past decade, where conventional parental names like “mother” and “father” had been replaced with gender-neutral conditions such as “parent one” and “parent two”.
In 2011, the State Department began using these strategies, claiming gender-specific words were outdated. In 2023, Vermont’s Department of Health recommended replacing” kid” or “daughter” with” kid” or “kid” to encourage equality.
” It took many years of work, but we are finally back to research and common sense”, Roger Severino, who served as director of HHS ‘ Office for Civil Rights during the first Trump presidency, posted on X on Thursday, praising the news.
The Trump administration has rolled back protections for transgender rights and diversity, equity, and inclusion ( DEI ) programs implemented under former President Joe Biden’s leadership.
Trump has likewise halted medical therapies he views as dangerous, banned federal funding for sex-change treatments for adolescents, and signed executive orders preventing trans players from competing in US-hosted activities, such as the 2028 Olympics and the World Cup.
Trump’s plans have faced legal problems, with some being blocked by federal courts, and they have drawn condemnation from civil rights and LGBTQ+ activists.
