During a conversation at the White House, President Donald Trump and the governor of Maine exchanged a short verbal exchange, promising to” see you in judge.”

Trump began praising his ban on transgender players in women’s sports before asking if governor was interested in extending his remarks to a slew of administrators. Janet Mills (D-ME) was in enrollment.

” Is Maine around? That governor of Maine”? Trump called out. Are you going to break it, you ask?

Mills immediately acknowledged her presence by stating categorically that she would” comply with state and federal law.”

    From there, things swiftly grew.

” You better do it because you’re not going to get any federal funding”, Trump shot back. ” By the way, your community may be somewhat progressive —&nbsp, although I did really well there — your community doesn’t like men playing in women’s sports”.

” We’re going to pursue the law”, Mills repeated. ” See you in jury”.

Trump, refusing to give Mills the last syllable, continued on.

” I look forward to that, that should be a real simple one”, he said. ” And enjoy your life after government because I don’t think you’ll be an elected official thereafter”.

A few states have declined to comply with Trump’s administrative order, which his administration claimed forbids people from competing in women’s sports. Maine is one of them, with the Maine Principal’s Association saying trans athletes may also thrive.

Trump’s get seeks to force compliance by withholding national finances under Title IX, which bans sexual discrimination.

Mills, 77, previously said she would not give into Trump’s” threat”, which is good why Trump asked if she was in the area.

My leadership and the attorney general may take all appropriate and necessary legitimate action to recover that money and the educational opportunity it provides, according to Mills. ” The State of Maine will not be intimidated by the government’s hazards”.

Trump designates original prisoner Alice Johnson as the new “pardon king.”

Then, it appears that legal action may be more probable.

Trump won 45 % of the ballot in Maine next fall, but he lost to former vice president Kamala Harris. Gills is currently serving as the governor of Maine, but the state law prohibits her from regaining a fourth term.
