Shiri Bibas, the Jewish family who was abducted on October 7, the day the war broke out, was confirmed on Saturday as the body of her, according to her home.
Kfir, the mother of her two younger sons, who were taken prisoner alongside her when Hamas militants stormed their residence in Nir Oz, a border town near the Gaza border, both four months later, both four of their sons, both four, passed away in captivity.
She may be laid to rest in Israel along with her two younger sons, according to Kibbutz Nir Oz, who mourned her passing. The exchange of animal remains to Israeli officials was followed by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Originally, Hamas claimed that the remains were Shiri, but they eventually emerged as those of an unnamed Palestinian woman. On Friday, the accurate identification was made.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the wrong identifying as” a violent and destructive infraction” of the Hamas deal.
When Shiri’s sons and Oded Lifshitz, 83, were taken hostage in a Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the death of 1,200 Israelis and sparked the continued war, three other bodies were confirmed as being those of Shiri’s children and Oded Lifshitz, who were 83 when they were confirmed as dead.
