Fans of the first” Goonies” movie, according to a report from Fox News Digital, “were thrilled this week when new accounts indicated a sequel was on the horizon, with Steven Spielberg as developer in charge.” Personally, I think they should keep it only, as there’s no way that this decades-later spinoff could possibly be any good compared to the original.

That being said, conservative-leaning comedian Robert Davi, who played Jake Fratelli in the classic film, would like to be a part of it, but is worried he didn’t get the opportunity because of his liberal views. One of Hollywood’s relatively few vocal conservatives is him.  ,
” We shall see”, he told Fox News Digital. We may discover if Jake Fratelli, or the Fratelli boys, are revived in some way. I hope. Because it’s such a famous movie, I would love to be a part of it because I still get messages from people all over the world on” Goonies.” It’s exciting. It’s become beyond religion position, I think”.
Fans of the movie also approach him now, he said, before asking how conservative might affect him in the franchise’s future.
” And the interesting component about it is Dick Donner, the chairman, initially said when we did the movie, he told me, he says,’ This is going to be like the present moment ‘ Wizard of Oz,'” Davi added. ” And it’s become that for many, many people. And I get a lot of multigenerational communities who come up to me and show me how much they adore” Goonies” and how much they adore Jake Fratelli because they add the song. I therefore sincerely hope to be a part of it. I hope they don’t interfere with my politics and prevent me from participating in that job.
Because it had already happened before, Davi explained that it was a concern never to receive the call.
” I’m concerned about it, yes”, he said. ” Because it’s happened on other issues, other projects. And it’s just, you know, I believe in free speech and not being socially right all the time”.
Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment have reached out to Fox News Digital for opinion.

Davi told Fox Digital that he has a fervent support for President Donald Trump since the former president initially launched his political career.
” I’ve written about it since 2015, since the day he announced— I was pro-Trump”, Davi said.

He remains a vocal advocate for Trump now, praising the former president’s new appointment of specific ministers to Hollywood: Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone.
Davi, who said he is helpful with all three stars, welcomed the meetings.
” And I think it’s a great thing to have a commission”, Davi said. ” I also was frustrated for my own arrogant factors, of course, because I had wanted something like that. And I had mentioned having a council in Hollywood to some members of the administration or during the battle. Now, what the leader has said is to take back business, too, because we’re losing so much business in Hollywood, which is real”.
Davi said that today’s social issues include supporting Israel, raising awareness of the conflict in Ukraine, and, most importantly, urging clarity and reducing federal waste. Trump, he said, has especially mastered the last item, recently unveiling the Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) with Elon Musk at the helm.
Trump has been discussing getting under the helmet for centuries in terms of the waste that is happening in our state and around the world, according to Davi. ” And now we have somebody that’s saying, wait a second, how much better off did the British people be if we can cut out all this”?
Warner Bros. has officially hired Potsy Ponciroli— a video producer known for the movie,’ Old Henry,’ — to write the script for the” Goonies” movie. Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario will make for Amblin Entertainment with Chris Columbus, while Lauren Shuler Donner did professional develop, according to Variety. The picture is still waiting on a producer.

Something tells me” Goonies II” won’t be any good anyway, which is understandable given that Davi would be upset that he wasn’t asked, which is a major issue in Hollywood.
