One serviceman was killed and another was hurt in a shooting affair at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, early on Saturday.
Authorities confirmed that this was neither a criminal action nor an outside attack.
Around 2 am ( local time ) when reports of gunfire erupted near a base entrance, base security personnel responded. The wounded infantryman, who suffered a hands wound, received therapy and was eventually released from clinic.
According to a statement from Kirtland air force base,” The cause of death and the event are still being looked into by local government.”
Military sources only minimal details about the affair. They did not confirm whether offenders had been detained or whether they were looking for offenders. When questioned about whether the culprit was a member of the military, the spokesperson refused to respond. The personalities of the damaged pilots remained unknown.
FBI agents are already looking into the picture while the Albuquerque police department has assistance.
