The Myth of Red State Gun Violence

The gun-control movement’s favorite statistic is that gun violence is highest in profound red states and lowest in deep blue state. And mathematically speaking, they’re right. Per the CDC, the states with the highest per capita costs for firearm deaths are Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Alabama, and Missouri. The state with the lowest prices are Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Jersey, and New York.

So what’s going on below? Is this just a widespread problem of aggressive, gun totin’, insurrectionist bumpkins barreling through the forest in their delivery trucks, yeehawing and looking for my-NAHR-uh-ties to take? Could the southern elites, for again, have the details on their part?

Well, no. Because when you delve a little deeper, and you see simply which parts of those “red state” are experiencing the most gun violence, the image becomes clearer. In Mississippi, for example, the most aggressive per capita of “red state”, there were 844 firearm incidents in 2023. But within Mississippi, the place with the most gun violence was Leflore County.

In Missouri, the place with the most gun crime was the area of St. Louis. In Louisiana, the place with the most gun violence is Caddo Parish, house of Shreveport, one of the most aggressive cities in the nation. In New Mexico, the place with the most firearm violence is Otero County. And in Alabama, the place with the most gun crime is Dallas County. &nbsp,

What do these places have in common? Different than Otero County, all these violent places have a lot black people.

But if you bring up these populations, remaining assured: USAFacts has pegged you for the sexist you are, and has &nbsp, pre-empted your foolish data. Gun violence, you see, is driven by” complex factors” such as” community conditions like poverty and racial or ethnic inequities (emphasis mine )”.

Got that? If it’s just “red state” we’re talking on, then of course we can expect higher rates of gun violence from all you whiskey guzzlin’, video area hillbillies. But if you break it down by communities within those states, then it’s not so simple. Then there are” complex factors” at play. Not your own stupid choices, but your unconscious bias is what’s causing gangbangers and drug dealers on the other side of the state to shoot each other.

For the cheap seats on the left, I’m going to have to say it again because black neighborhoods are more violent than those with darker skin. Because their Democratic charmers have fabricated their neighborhoods into a perpetual welfare state to guarantee their votes, black neighborhoods are more violent. More than just slavery or the KKK or Jim Crow, Democrats have smacked too many black people of the twin ills of government dependency and personal responsibility, which have completely destroyed the black community. Without a doubt, a closer examination of the statistics would reveal that these same violent regions are notoriously violent in fatherlessness, drug use, and child abuse, all of which are unavoidable outcomes of the welfare state.

We can instead break down the statistics politically if liberals continue to talk about the racial demographics of America’s most violent regions. With the exception once again of Otero County, all these violent areas are deep blue strongholds. When I mention that these areas are overwhelmingly black, do you feel squeamish? No problem. I can simply point out that they’re majority Democrat. That correlation, methinks, is better supported by the realities of political life in contemporary America. A 2024 study by the Manhattan Institute backs up this assertion.

That Democrats are inherently more violent is a truism that crosses racial boundaries, as the mostly white criminals of Antifa, Occupy, and campus leftists routinely display. After the murder of United Health Care CEO Brian Thompson, a poll of mostly left-leaning Americans under 30 found that a slim majority of them ( 41 %/40 % ) found his murder “acceptable”. This is not revolutionary. Leftists have always “accepted” violence in the name of political gain, and they have done so ever since the French Revolution. They have done this openly. &nbsp,

So next time your liberal friend Jaxson or Carter smugly regurgitates in his gentle, inflected voice the disproven notion of “red state” violence, hit him up with these statistics. But be careful he doesn’t choke on his flax seeds.
