The removal of Admiral Lisa Franchetti as Chief of Naval Operations came as a surprise step in the career of the first woman to hold a position in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, according to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth‘s announcement on Friday. Additionally, as part of the shake-up, the Air Force Vice Chief of Staff, General James Slife, along with the best Army, Navy, and Air Force Judge Advocate Admirals, were fired.
