According to the National Weather Service Louisville, the state experienced 3 to 8 inches of precipitation in addition to past record-breaking amounts in recent days.
Rain hammered much of the condition, but many of the most affected places were in Eastern Kentucky— a place that was also devastated by flood in summertime 2022, which , killed 45 individuals.
During that flood, a number of weeks of storms rolled through Eastern Kentucky, dumping between 14 and 16 inches of rain on the area, according to the National Weather Service. The heavier rains arrived on July 27 and 28 in the late afternoon and early afternoon. Rivers and creeks in Kentucky rose to historical levels as a result of the weather, and former President Joe Biden ratified a catastrophe charter.
” Best now, we’re not always seeing that degree of function all across Kentucky, but we may in some parts”, Beshear said Sunday.
Beshear said preliminary evaluations of destruction showed common, but less severe injury, than the 2022 flooding.
” The distinction between the 2022 inundation and this is this reach the entire state”, Beshear said. ” We have flood in Eastern Kentucky, we have flood in Eastern Kentucky. Therefore, it might be more superior in the end than we think when we eventually examine the total damage caused.

More than 39, 000 people nationwide were without electricity, Beshear said.
