Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino, who became well-known as a liberal pundit through Television shows and a well-known podcast, has been appointed FBI deputy director. On Sunday, President Trump made the announcement, lauding Bongino as” a gentleman of extraordinary love and passion for our land.”
Bongino, who may serve under producer Kash Patel, may be responsible for FBI’s day-to-day law enforcement activities. The place does not involve Senate verification. However, Bongino has not served in the FBI, which raises questions about their background in a time when the US is experiencing an increase in national security risks.
