Russia’s right inspector reported on Monday that Russia and the Red Cross had reached a deal to evacuate people from the troubled Kursk area, parts of which had been seized by Ukraine.
More than six months prior, Kyiv launched a shock cross-border assault on the Soviet region, taking lots of settlements and capturing numerous Russian citizens on the reverse side of the front line.
According to Russian rights director Tatyana Moskalkova, some of those residents have today crossed into Ukraine’s neighboring Sumy territory and are awaiting removal via Belarus.
” Sumy already has people that right now. According to Russia’s RIA media company, Moskalkova stated that there is a deal with the Russian side and the Red Cross that they will be sent to Russia.
Moskalkova did not specify how many Kursk citizens may be forced to leave the agreement.
Initial estimates of only around 500 people missing in the Ukrainian-occupied area were based on an established missing persons list created by Russian regulators, but local people claim that the figure is near to 3, 000.
Ukraine claims that thousands of its own citizens have been detained in areas that Moscow has seized and occupied since its assault on February 24, 2022, and that it is providing protected passage for Russians in the Kursk place.
