State Department Imposes ‘Maximum Pressure’ Sanctions on Iran

The U.S. Department of State is currently naming 16 individuals and ships for their participation in Iran’s petroleum and petroleum industries.

The Department of State and the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control ( OFAC ) are concurrently sanctioning a combined total of 22 persons and identifying 13 vessels as blocked property, across multiple jurisdictions, for their involvement in Iran’s oil industry.

This system of illiterate and deceived people operate illegal transport and obfuscate their role in the transportation and loading of Iranian oil to Asian customers. It has shipped hundreds of millions of barrels of crude oil price hundreds of millions of dollars. The actions taken today marks a first step in President Trump’s plan to put maximum pressure on the Persian program. It stifles Iran’s efforts to raise money from fuel to support terrorist activities.

We will remain to obstruct these illegal funding sources for Iran’s vile activities. According to a press release from the Treasury Department,” Among those sanctioned today are oil brokers in the United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) and Hong Kong, tanker operators and managers in India and People’s Republic of China ( PRC ), the head of Iran’s National Iranian Oil Company, and the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, whose operations help finance Iran’s destabilizing activities. The arteries that are currently under investigation are responsible for shipping tens of millions of barrels of crude oil worthing hundreds of millions of dollars.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio vehemently disagreed with Catherine Herridge’s assertion that a nuclear Iran would “hold the earth hostage” and “potentially incident Israel” in an interview on Thursday.
