The day that thousands of genuine Star Wars fans have been anticipating does eventually arrive. According to new studies, Kathleen Kennedy, the controversial president of Lucasfilm who has presided over the wokeification of one of America’s most precious sci-fi businesses, is planning to move down by the end of 2025.

Puck News , broke , the narrative that Kennedy, who turns 72 this June, has already informed Disney executives and her inward circle about her decision to retire. There are plenty of indications that this isn’t just wishful thinking from angry fans, even though neither Disney, Lucasfilm, or Kennedy herself have officially confirmed this information.
Kennedy was first co-chair of Lucasfilm in 2012, joining George Lucas himself. When Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney for$ 4 billion shortly thereafter, Kennedy was elevated to president, and the overall reduction of Star Wars began in earnest.
Interesting to note is that Kennedy had apparently made up his mind to step down in 2024 and had already scheduled an appointment with a blogger before making the decision to stay put. She’s been dropping different ideas, including selling her Malibu residence and some of her art, and expressing interest in collaborating with her father, Frank Marshall, who produces movies.
As long as she’s no messing around with Star Wars any longer, that’s okay with me. Under Kennedy’s management, Star Wars experienced a couple dizzying highs, but largely some fatal lows.  ,

Star Wars is certainly a bankable house, but not respecting the origin materials or the viewers has consequences. While” The Force Awakens,” the first of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, earned an impressive$ 2 billion worldwide, each subsequent sequel movie fell behind as fans began to become increasingly disgruntled with the direction of the franchise.  ,
However, in the hands of genuine fans, there has been some achievement. With two great months ahead of it,” The Mandalorian,” led by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, initially appeared to be a return to form before faltering in its second season. The television program quickly developed into a popular lifestyle trend. However, the rush to recreate that success with different displays didn’t work out so well. ” The Book of Boba Fett” and” Obi-Wan Kenobi” failed to capture the same magic, even with the benefit of relying on established characters.
And let’s not neglect” The Acolyte,” a present so excessively woken up that Disney graciously canceled it after only one season. I was always interested in watching it.
Star Wars has struggled to make a comeback since” The Fall of Skywalker” debuted in theaters in 2019. Numerous previously announced jobs have been cancelled or indefinitely delayed. The second musical providing,” The Mandalorian &, Grogu”, isn’t set to arrive until 2026, and I don’t have high expectations for it.

No national leader has been announced, but Filoni ( recently named Chief Creative Officer ) and Favreau are considered the finalists. There might be reason to be optimistic about the galaxy’s coming if Star Wars is left in their competent hands.
How’s hoping that after Kennedy leaves, the Force will once more be with us. By giving viewers what they truly want, the revolt against woke Star Wars might eventually achieve where Lucasfilm failed.
