Bangladesh Army captain General Waker-uz-Zaman warned the politicians on Tuesday regarding their inner conflicts, emphasising the serious danger it poses to national independence, and said that no one may say afterwards that he “did not prudence” anyone.
He remarked at a memorial service for military officers killed in the 2009 Pilkhana murders that” the country and the state will be in danger if you resort to mudslinging among yourselves.” I am issuing a warning—you cannot say afterward that I did not prudence you”, according to United News of Bangladesh.
On February 25 and 26, 2009, Bangladesh saw the murder of numerous army officers at the paramilitary force headquarters in Pilkhana, Dhaka, including Maj Gen Shakil Ahmed, the then-director general of Bangladesh Rifles ( BDR). There were 74 complete casualties.
General Zaman highlighted the latest stormy condition in Bangladesh, noting that inmates are exploiting these conditions.
He claimed that people are obsessed with antagonizing one another and that inner problems are the main cause of deteriorating security.
According to him,” We are going through a turbulent position, and thieves are taking advantage of it,” according to United News of Bangladesh.
” There are some factors behind the deterioration in the law-and-order position. One is: If we are busy struggling, it’s a ideal condition for thieves. If they commit the atrocities this day, they will be able to get away with it quickly. If we stay united, he said, it will be possible to confront these issues in a balanced manner.
He noted that when participants file accusations in concert, they sense the violence that can be exercised by the perpetrators.
The army commander urged the public to acknowledge their positive contributions and not generally criticize law enforcement and security organizations for previous contentious incidents.
General Zaman, an army officer by training, dismissed personal interests, apparently addressing the government’s history of military treatments.
He promised that after stability was established, military forces would start building their bases again.
Zaman, who has a parental relationship with Hasina, said,” I just want to bring the country and the state to a secure place and then take a vacation.”
The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’s rebellion resulted in Sheikh Hasina’s 16-year management ending on August 5, 2024, with scholar Muslim Yunus assuming time management, PTI reported.
The Bangladesh had witnessed a number of uprisings, including the February 5 event where the protesters attacked Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s home since Sheikh Hasina’s leadership was destroyed.
