Elon Musk may be running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and shaking up Washington, but don’t expect him to make a presidential run anytime soon—at least, not if you ask his dad.
In a vibrant discussion on Al Arabiya News ‘ GNT, Errol Musk, parents of the businessman investor, made it clear: his child is” not cut out for politics”.
Why? Because politics requires dealing with everyone—from the “incredibly clever” to the” somewhat not clever” —and Elon, Errol insists, prefers to surround himself with top-tier minds.
Musk for President?’ No happening,’ says father
When asked if Elon may contemplate running for president if the US Constitution were to be amended to allow individuals from other countries, Musk Sr rejected the idea.
” Politicians is where you have to deal with anyone, from the highly advanced to the very innocent. If you can’t do that, don’t get into politicians”.
According to Errol, his child struggles to interact with regular voters—a issue he compared to Donald Trump’s abrasive New York design, which, despite its appeal to some, made it harder for Trump to appeal with a broader audience.
‘Rotten to the core’: Elon’s war on government waste
But while Musk may not be cut out for politicians, he’s also playing a key role in government.
His DOGE program has the task of eradicating wasteful spending, and, in Errol’s opinion, it is so deeply corrupt that full departments are being shut down.
According to Musk Sr.,” They discovered that the rottenness was so great that the only answer was to completely shut down the entire department immediately.” ” The problem wasn’t simply bad people, it was an entire method of spend”.
While DOGE claims it has saved$ 55 billion, critics argue that nearly$ 38 billion of those savings remain unverified.
The’ Nazi Salute ‘ discussion: Errol says it’s’ bullshit’
Then there is the odd palm move that ignited the web.
At a recent occasion, Elon slapped his right hand on his neck and extended his arm horizontally downward, hand down, twice—prompting charges that he was making a Nazi salute.
Errol dismissed the indignation as “nonsense” and blamed Elon’s problems with public speaking.
” Elon is a bad public speaker. He was simply trying to get through his brief conversation as quickly as he was and appear as lovely as he could. But he struggled”, Musk Sr. said.
As for the provocative finger activity? Errol claims that it is just an old sign that has no connection to Hitler or Nazi Germany.
” It was an international welcome we’ve had for the next 10, 000 years or more. The ancient German ‘ storm Caesar ‘ welcome came from the Persians, the Sumerians, and so on. It just meant,’ My correct hand is vacant,'” he explained.
