
According to reports, Hooters is developing a debt plan that would enable the chain of restaurants to pay off debts.
Its parent company, Hooters of America, is said to have met with a law firm about the possibility of starting a legitimate method in the coming weeks that would give the business time to rearrange. According to Bloomberg, that program is never final.
The , Atlanta-based eatery , operates more than , 400 places in 29 states, according to its site.
The business previously , shuttered around 40 “underperforming” restaurants , in 2024, but planned to move forward.
” With new Hooters restaurants opening domestically and internationally, new Hooters frozen products launching at grocery stores and the Hooters footprint expanding into new markets with both company and franchise locations, this brand of 41 years remains highly resilient and relevant”, the company told Nation ‘s , Restaurant News , last June.
But decreasing foot traffic, prices and the COVID-19 crisis have  , proven challenging , for restaurants of all kinds.  , Red Lobster filed for Book 11 , in May after closing many businesses, but , exited bankruptcy , in September after being acquired by a new owner.
The Hooters ‘ signature menu item is chicken wings, but the restaurant is best known for its waiters, who dress in small orange clothes and wear white T-shirts with the name of the company on them.
Model and sport earth influencer , Paige Spiranac , came over swinging after hearing about Hooters perhaps filing for bankruptcy.
” No on my watch”, she wrote on social media.
Hooters has not responded to a post demand.
