Joy Reid, the most vocal variety on liberal media channel , MSNBC, is leaving the system.
According to two people with knowledge of the plans who were not authorized to remark officially, Reid, who signed a new deal with the Comcast-owned network last month, will have her last show this year.
An , MSNBC , agent declined remark on Reid’s position.
Reid, 56, rarely made Comcast professionals unpleasant with her severe critiques of President , Donald Trump , and his followers. Her departure will be seen as yet another illustration of TV media outlets tampering with reporters and commentators who are viewed as unfriendly to the Trump presidency.
CNN , effectively , pushed out daylight anchor , Jim Acosta, who is extremely hard on Trump, by offering him a midnight move. He chose to leave otherwise.
Reid joined , MSNBC , as a nighttime number in 2014 and took over the , 7 p. m. Eastern time , gambling with ,” The ReidOut” in 2020. Her withdrawal is the first big walk under new , MSNBC , President , Rebecca Kutler.
Kutler is leading , MSNBC , as it becomes part of , a new spinoff business  , made up of Comcast’s cable channels. She succeeded , Rashida Jones,  , who left the system next month.
Reid’s hours will be filled by a group of visitors,  , Michael Steele,  , Symone Sanders , Townsend and , Alicia Menendez. They have appeared together on the , MSNBC , software” The Weekend”, which debuted in , January 2024.
Kutler developed” The Weekend” while serving as executive vice president at , MSNBC. Additionally, she intends to expand Jen Psaki, a past Biden White House press secretary, whose program is currently broadcast on Sunday and Monday.
Psaki may take over the , 9 p. m. Eastern time , gambling on night when , MSNBC’s , sun host , Rachel Maddow , is out.  , Alex Wagner, who has served in that position, is being pulled off the plan but may be with , MSNBC , as a journalist.
Through the first 100 times of Trump’s new name, Maddow has just returned to afternoon work.
But when Reid leaves, the system does have to deal with the anger of her fans and the left-leaning fans of , MSNBC.
