
On Tuesday evening, legislators confirmed North Carolina local Dan Driscoll as commander of the U.S. Army.
After Driscoll is sworn into office, he may handle the Army’s 1.2 million people and a requested$ 185.9 billion finances.
Driscoll, 38, grew up in Banner Elk, and life in Winston-Salem.
His assurance came despite some Pentagon leaders ‘ concerns that Driscoll lacked knowledge and was unknown to them, according to the Military Times.
He served in the Army less than four decades from 2007 to 2011, finishing with the level of first lieutenant. During that period, he deployed to Iraq.
Next month, Driscoll told lawmakers he comes from three generations of soldiers that include his father and grandfather, and while his own child is just 8, and was eventually change his mind, he, also, plans to join the defense.
Before the Senate Armed Services Committee on January 30 and 30, Driscoll testified about his qualifications and why he should direct the Army.
Driscoll even has small political knowledge, but while both of them attended Yale University, Driscoll and Vance established a connection with current Vice President JD Vance.
In 2020, when Driscoll ran to signify North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District — after Rep. Mark Meadows left to provide as Trump’s chief of staff — Vance donated to Driscoll’s plan. Driscoll lost the Democratic key.  , Rep. Madison Cawthorn , won and went on to serve one word.
Driscoll worked as a venture capitalist and in secret equity , at firms in North Carolina, but maintained his connection with Vance. Eventually, Vance appointed Driscoll to be his senior director.
When Trump announced Driscoll as the Army’s leader, he said Driscoll had get” a disruptor and change agent.”
Driscoll faced much push up during his confirmation reading, except from Sen. Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat from Illinois.
Harrison voted against Driscoll in the Senate floor ballot Tuesday evening,  , along with 21 other legislators.
Both North Carolina Sens. Thom Tillis and Ted Budd, Republicans, approved Driscoll’s election.
