As he prepares to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on Friday, President Donald Trump says Ukraine” coul miss about” joining the NATO military alliance.
Trump added that on Wednesday, he added that he hopes to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin immediately in an effort to reach a resolution to finish the Ukrainian conflict that started with Moscow’s invasion in February 2022.
The Democratic president declined to detail what concessions he may question the two sides to create, but he underscored his government’s place that Ukraine’s aspiration to join NATO, the European defense alliance, is hardly feasible.
“NATO, you may forget about it”, Trump said. ” I think that’s probably the reason the whole thing started”.
Trump previously stated that he hopes to meet with Putin immediately in hopes of reaching an agreement to end the war.
He outlined his administration’s place that Ukraine’s ambition to visit the North Atlantic Treaty Organization but went on to say what compromises he’d ask the two sides to create.
